Another Tuesday has come around. Meaning it's the day to see all the best new books that are being published this week! I can't share a list of every new book because there are hundreds, but I've narrowed it down to a few favorites in children's, middle grade, young adult, adult fiction, and nonfiction.

Join me for a look at some of the best books that are coming out this week. I think my favorite book on the list is The Bear and the Nightingale - an old Russian folklore retold. My kids saw the Engineering book and asked if I would buy it for them, it's great to have kids interested in all sorts of topics!

Favorite New Children's Pictures Books this Week

The Unexpected Love Story of Alfred Fiddleduck - Timothy Basil Ering
Enchanting read-aloud text is combined with beautiful artwork in this story about a farmer, a gentle old lady, a dancing dog, and one tiny and brave duckling that will warm your heart. Captain Alfred is sailing home with a new batch of duck eggs for his farm when his small boat is caught in a storm. Everything is tossed in the sea, including a beautiful duck egg nestled into a fiddle case. The little duckling stumbles out of his shell and find the fiddle. When the little duckling embraces the fiddle with his whole heart, the result is magical.

Dream Big - Kat Kronenberg
Caterpillar, Tadpole, and Flamingo gaze up at the night sky and make a wish for their wildest dreams. Baboon hears and insists that these dreams can't come true. When Baboon sees Caterpillar turn into a beautiful butterfly, Tadpole become a frog, and Flamingo transform into a pink bird, Baboon realizes that a transformative power exists between the stars and these and the animals once they truly believe in themselves and their dreams. Baboon tries out this secret and his magical, wished-upon star whooshes from the heavens to ignite the courage in his chest too and what happens next is fantastic!

I Am Jim Henson - Brad Meltzer
A friendly, fun look at the life of Jim Henson, creator of the beloved Muppets and Sesame Street characters. Through his Muppets, Jim showed that there is nothing more beautiful than imagination, especially when it is accompanied by laughter and kindness. This series takes a look at ordinary people who express traits that children can look up to and aspire to have in their own lives.

Rabbit Magic - Meg McLaren
When a magic trick goes awry, magician M Lapin becomes a sad rabbit and his rabbit assistant Houdini becomes the star of the show. After some spectacular tricks, Houdini realizes that someone else deserves some time in the spotlight and restores M Lapin to his former self. Generosity, teamwork, and magic take center stage of this picture book.

Zoo Day - Anne and Lizzy Rockwell
Come along with young boy and his family as they visit the zoo for the first time. Celebrate a day that will never be forgotten with simple lyrical text and bright illustrations that jump off the page.

RoseBlood - AG Howard
Rune moves to a boarding school outside of Paris, only to discover that in this opera house turned conservatory, phantoms really do exsist. Rune has a voice that has been compared to an angel, but has a mysterious affliction that leaves her sick and drained after every performance. Rune begins a friendship with Thorn and find that her symptoms are cured. Thorn must make a decision, lead Rune to her destruction or save her and face the wrath of the phantom.

You Don't Know My Name - Kristen Orlando

The Bear and the Nightingale - Katherine Arden
A new retelling of an old Russian tale.
